Turn product specifications into a usable English product page
Practice with a storage pouch: organize product facts, write a title, benefits and FAQs, then verify every claim. Includes source material and a worked example.
A usable product page starts with knowing which claims you can support. A photo may show color and construction, but it cannot establish a waterproof rating, load capacity or service life. Clean up the facts first.
This exercise uses a zipper pouch with fictional practice specifications, not a real product offer. Replace them with supplier-confirmed information for your own item. The output is a title, five benefits, a short description and FAQs that you can paste into a store editor and adapt to its rules.
01 · Give the AI a clean product brief
Open a new ChatGPT conversation and paste the brief below. Add front, interior and dimension photos if you have them. Ask it to repeat the information it can read; transcribe small labels yourself when they are unclear. This exercise also works with pasted text alone, without image recognition or a separate automation tool.
Product: gray zipper pouch Material: polyester fabric External dimensions: 20 × 12 × 5 cm Interior: one main compartment and two mesh pockets Package: one pouch; chargers, cables and props are not included Care: spot-clean with a damp cloth and air-dry Market: United States Use: organizing desk cables, earbuds and small accessories Unconfirmed: water resistance, weight, environmental certifications and device compatibility Extract confirmed facts, missing information and conclusions that photos cannot establish. Do not write sales copy yet.
02 · Connect each specification to a use
Check the extracted facts before sending the next instruction. For the US market, you can show centimeters and inches, keeping the external-dimensions qualifier. Dividing by 2.54 gives approximately 7.9 × 4.7 × 2.0 inches. External dimensions do not establish usable internal space.
Using only confirmed facts, draft a product page for US customers. Include a natural title, five short benefits, a 60–90-word description and four FAQs. Tie every benefit to a specific fact. Do not add waterproof, eco-friendly, fits all devices or lifetime claims. Round inches to one decimal and label the measurements as external. Cover accessories, cleaning and unknown compatibility in the FAQs. Provide a separate claim-audit table: sentence, supporting fact and information still needed. Keep this table out of the customer-facing copy.
03 · What a finished practice draft looks like
Example title: Gray Zipper Pouch with Two Mesh Pockets
Example benefits:
• One main compartment for cables and small accessories.
• Two mesh pockets help separate smaller items.
• External size: 7.9 × 4.7 × 2.0 in (20 × 12 × 5 cm).
• Polyester fabric; spot-clean with a damp cloth and air-dry.
• Includes one pouch. Cables, chargers and props are not included.
Example description: Keep desk cables, earbuds, and other small accessories together in a gray zipper pouch. One main compartment holds your items, while two mesh pockets help separate smaller pieces. The polyester pouch measures 20 × 12 × 5 cm externally. Check your accessories against the available space before buying; the external measurements do not describe the internal capacity. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and air-dry. The package includes one pouch only.
Example FAQs:
Does it include the charger shown in the photos? — No. The package includes one pouch only.
Is it waterproof? — A waterproof rating has not been confirmed.
Will my charger fit? — Check the dimensions of your charger. The listed measurements are external; internal clearance has not been specified.
How do I clean it? — Spot-clean with a damp cloth and let it air-dry.
04 · Catch unsupported additions before listing
Compare every sentence in the product draft with the original brief. Find invented specifications, implied certifications, exaggerated performance, missing accessory exclusions and external dimensions presented as internal space. Return original sentence, issue and minimal correction. Keep unknown information unknown. Finish with a clean English draft.
Paste the final version into your store editor and save it as a draft. On mobile, check title truncation, dimension-image readability and whether package exclusions are easy to find. Follow the current platform requirements for title length, image ratios and restricted wording.
Done means every number has a source, product and props are clearly distinguished, and unconfirmed performance has not become a promise. Keep the brief and final copy together so product revisions update both.
05 · Turn the copy into a usable product page
I organize the gray zipper pouch page into four layers instead of pasting a whole AI response into the description. Start with a clear title and a photo of the complete product. Follow with three to five short points about structure, external dimensions and package contents. Then show dimensions, the open pouch and a relevant use case. Put cleaning instructions and FAQs last. Buyers can decide whether the product is relevant before reading details.
Prepare a review sheet with page field, approved copy, source file, image ID and review status. Keep the facts from the earlier example: external size 20 × 12 × 5 cm, one main compartment, two mesh pockets and one pouch in the package. Name the main photo P01, the open-pouch photo P02, the external-dimension image P03 and the package-content image P04. Mark missing images for production; do not replace real internal details with an invented AI image.
Open the product from your store product list and keep it in draft. Use the product name and key structure in the title without keyword stuffing. Organize the description in the sequence above. Match every variant name, color and image to the actual item. Use confirmed store settings for shipping, taxes, dispatch timing and returns; do not let AI invent policies to complete the page.
Prepare a field-by-field content package for the store editor using only confirmed pouch facts. Do not log in to or modify the store. Product: gray polyester zipper pouch; external size 20 × 12 × 5 cm; one main compartment and two mesh pockets. The package contains one pouch, with no chargers, cables or props. Spot-clean with a damp cloth and air-dry. Assets: P01 main photo, P02 open pouch, P03 external dimensions, P04 package contents. Goal: an English product page for people organizing cables and small accessories. Deliver in order: 1. A product title, three key points, a short description, specifications, package contents, cleaning guidance and four FAQs, separated for copying. 2. Suggested order, English alt text and associated copy for P01–P04. Describe only what is actually visible. 3. The supporting product fact for each section, keeping the internal evidence sheet separate from customer copy. 4. Dimensions in centimeters and inches rounded to one decimal place, explicitly labeled external dimensions. 5. Missing shipping, dispatch and return details in a separate owner-confirmation list, never in customer copy or as bracketed placeholders in the final text. Do not add waterproofing, certifications, load capacity, universal compatibility or warranty promises.
Preview on a phone and check four points: the first screen clearly identifies the item; dimensions are labeled external; props in lifestyle images are not mistaken for included accessories; and variant changes keep the picture and copy consistent. Check the product name, variant and quantity in the cart as well. You can stop at the cart; testing copy does not require placing a real order.
A direct FAQ answer is: “What is included? One pouch. Cables, chargers and props are not included.” Do not answer “Will my charger fit?” with an unsupported yes. Internal dimensions are missing in this example. Explain that the available measurements are external and offer an actually available way to confirm dimensions. A photo showing a small charger does not establish compatibility with every model.
06 · Fix the specific page problem
If the title is too long, remove repeated uses and modifiers while retaining the product name, color or key structure, then check the mobile truncation. If selling points repeat, assign one to structure, one to external dimensions and one to package contents instead of repeating vague convenience claims. If images conflict with specifications, pause publication and check the original measurement version rather than choosing the more attractive number.
Traffic without many cart additions does not prove that copy is the cause. Check audience relevance, variants, price, shipping visibility, images and the purchase control. Change one clear issue at a time and record what changed and when. Do not draw strong conclusions from very little traffic. Keep the product draft link, mobile screenshots, fact sheet and source images so future product revisions use the same evidence.
