Adapt One Video for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook

Turn one product-measurement master into TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Facebook versions, with complete English copy and publishing checks.

Exporting four copies of a video is not multi-platform adaptation. Footage can be shared, but viewing context, titles and next-step links may differ. I create a clean master first, then adapt to the functions actually available on each account.

This example asks which three dimensions to measure before buying drawer organisers. You will create a master script, four publishable copy sets, four export checks and a publishing log. These are editorial approaches to test, not fixed algorithm rules.

01 · Prepare clean master assets

Film the actual product and tape measure: internal width, usable depth, clearance, placement and drawer movement. Name files by purpose, such as 01-width, 02-depth, 03-clearance and 04-fit. Filmed measurements must match product information.

Keep original footage without platform watermarks or platform music. Save narration, captions and music separately where possible so music restrictions do not require a complete re-edit. Verify rights for third-party assets; downloadable does not mean commercially licensed.

A 9:16, 1080×1920 master with a frame rate suited to the main footage is a practical starting point, not the only supported format. Check the actual uploader and current platform guidance before publishing.

02 · Fix the facts before writing the master script

Before buying drawer organisers, measure the inside of your drawer.
Check the width, the usable depth and the clearance above the base.
Compare those measurements with the organiser's external dimensions.
Then check that the drawer can close without catching.

This teaches measurement, not guaranteed fit for a particular model. Demonstrate clearance using the real drawer structure. Do not invent an obstruction where none exists.

Shot one brings the tape measure into the drawer; shot two labels width, depth and height; shot three compares product dimensions with the measurement card; shot four shows actual drawer movement. Match each spoken point to a visual rather than discussing measurement over packaging footage.

Read the narration aloud and time it before choosing duration. There is no guaranteed recommendation advantage to 20 seconds. If clear explanation needs 28 seconds, make it clear first and then remove repetition.

03 · Generate four first drafts with one prompt

Adapt this drawer-measurement video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook.
Keep product facts, measurement methods and footage consistent. Do not invent algorithm rules.
For each platform provide:
1. A first-three-second opening using available footage.
2. Complete English narration and its Chinese meaning.
3. Short cover text and a publication title or caption.
4. One call to action matching this account's actual entry points.
5. Changes from the master and why they are worth testing.
Do not promise traffic, invent comments or tests, or claim unsupported product effects.
Do not say click the link below where no clickable link exists.
Master script: [paste]
Footage list: [paste]
Available account entry points: TikTok [fill in]; Instagram [fill in]; YouTube [fill in]; Facebook [fill in].

If you have not checked account entry points, use “save this measuring guide” until the publishing interface is verified. AI does not know which features your account has.

04 · TikTok: show the problem immediately

Try an action-first opening. Show a real drawer that will not close, if that footage exists; otherwise show clearance measurement. Do not fabricate a product failure.

Opening:
Measured the width but forgot the clearance?

Narration:
Before you choose a drawer organiser, check three measurements: inside width, usable depth and clearance. Compare them with the organiser's external dimensions, then make sure the drawer can close. Save these three checks before you shop.

Cover:
3 checks before buying

Caption:
Width, depth and clearance. Check all three before choosing a drawer organiser.

Emphasise the three measurement terms without cramming the whole script onto one screen. Start with a save action. Switch to viewing specifications only when the account has a suitable link and the page works. A long non-clickable URL is not a useful substitute.

05 · Instagram Reels: create a checklist people can revisit

Number the three steps and use a clear cover. This is an editorial choice, not a rule that Instagram requires more polished content. Prioritise clean visuals and readable information.

Opening:
A quick measuring checklist for your kitchen drawer.

Narration:
Start with the inside width. Then measure the usable depth. Finally, check the clearance, including anything that may catch. Compare the measurements with the organiser you are considering. Keep this checklist for your next drawer reset.

Cover:

Caption:
A simple checklist before you choose drawer organisers:
1. Inside width
2. Usable depth
3. Clearance
Save it for your next kitchen reset.

Check cover cropping in both the feed and profile before publishing. Keep captions away from controls and text overlays in the current platform preview, not just the editing software.

06 · YouTube Shorts: state what viewers will learn

Try directly answering a searchable question. Keep the title aligned with the content rather than promising an astonishing result that is never shown.

Title:
How to measure a drawer before buying organisers

Opening and narration:
Buying drawer organisers? Measure the inside, not the outside of the drawer. Check the width, the usable depth and the clearance. Then compare them with the organiser's external dimensions. Test the drawer movement before deciding the layout.

On-screen text:
Inside measurements matter

Description:
Three measurements to check before choosing a drawer organiser. Use the actual dimensions of your drawer and the product you are considering.

YouTube states that ordinary URLs in Shorts descriptions and comments are not clickable. Use related-video or channel entry points actually available to your account and test them yourself. If they are not configured, end clearly without an unsupported link instruction.

07 · Facebook: add context and invite a relevant question

Give the same demonstration a fuller explanation for people encountering your business for the first time. Use the video or Reels publishing options currently available to the Page; do not assume identical formats across accounts.

Opening:
Planning a kitchen drawer reset? Check the measurements first.

Narration:
Measure the inside width and the usable depth of the drawer. Then check the space above the base, so the organiser does not catch when the drawer closes. Compare these measurements with the actual product dimensions before choosing your layout.

Caption:
A drawer can look large enough and still have limited clearance. Before choosing organisers, check the inside width, usable depth and height. Which measurement is the most difficult to check in your kitchen?

Ask a question only if someone will answer relevant replies. Avoid unrelated comment-to-claim bait and repeated promotion in groups that prohibit it. Confirm who handles Page comments and messages after publication.

08 · Check captions, covers and music for each version

Verify spoken dimensions, units and models before checking subtitles. Subtitles should follow the actual audio, without adding unspoken product promises. Split long English sentences into readable chunks.

Platform overlays change. Use the current publishing preview to check top, bottom and right-side obstruction rather than treating fixed safe-area pixels as permanent rules. Also inspect profile cover cropping.

Confirm music rights and intended use. Music available inside one platform is not automatically licensed for export to another, and commercial-account rules may differ. If uncertain, use music you have cross-platform rights to or retain only clear speech and ambient sound.

Apply each platform's rules when synthetic content requires disclosure. AI-assisted scriptwriting does not automatically require identical labelling everywhere; the final content matters.

09 · Use a version table to prevent publishing the wrong file

Content ID | Platform | Video file | Subtitle version | Cover file | Publication copy
Available action entry point | Music rights record | Publication time and time zone | Original URL | Owner

Include platform and version in filenames, such as drawer-measure-tiktok-v1.mp4 and drawer-measure-reels-v1.mp4. Preserve the master separately. Confirm the video and caption match, especially if the ending says view specifications but no link exists.

Complete one platform's publishing checks before moving to the next. A distribution tool's sent status does not prove correct display. Open the live page and check picture, sound, cover, copy and action entry point.

10 · Compare the same business objectives in review

Record each platform separately rather than ranking by total views. One may bring consumer fit questions and another wholesale enquiries. Judge value against your actual objective.

Keep real questions from comments and adapt around them next time. Even successful formats must fit your available footage; do not simply imitate another creator's voice and shots.

Completion means all four versions share consistent facts, communicate clearly, have usable captions and music, use checked entry points and have recorded live URLs. The same process can then support another product question.

11 · Check account destinations before writing four endings

After drafting the four versions, inspect your actual accounts and record platform, visible destination, target page, whether it was opened and checked, and the usable ending copy. Account availability cannot be inferred from the platform name.

If external destinations are unconfirmed, use link-independent endings: TikTok, “Save these checks before you choose an organiser.” Instagram, “Keep this measuring checklist for your next drawer reset.” YouTube, “Use these three measurements when comparing organisers.” Facebook, “Keep the measurements handy before choosing your layout.” These are editorial options, not algorithm claims.

When a specification-page destination is verified for one account, revise that version only. Name its actual location, such as the profile, rather than claiming a link below. If the preview lacks the destination, retain link-independent wording. Keep the video, post copy and real destination consistent.

Open the destination and verify the same product, clear measurement units and accessible specifications on a phone. A page loading successfully does not establish a correct content handoff.

Prepare a four-platform publishing handoff for the drawer-measurement script. Invent no platform rules, sign in to no account and publish nothing.
Facts: measure internal width, usable depth and clearance, then compare with product external dimensions. Do not guarantee fit for all models.
Assets: 01-width, 02-depth, 03-clearance and 04-fit for real placement and drawer movement. Mark assets unverified without actual files.
Platforms: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook. Account destinations are all unverified, so claim no clickable link, automated DM delivery or configured destination.
For each output the main question, opening shot, English ending, short cover title, post copy, suggested filename and outstanding checks.
Create three checks: consistent measurement facts across versions; agreement between narration, screen text, post copy and actual destinations, currently using link-independent wording; and aligned content ID and version across script, audio, captions, video, cover and copy. Suggested filenames do not establish file existence.
Show one revision example where a specification destination becomes available for one account and only affected items in that version change. Keep approved, uploaded and publicly published statuses distinct.

12 · Deliver four versions without outdated captions or covers

Use consistent working names such as measure_TT_v01, measure_IG_v01, measure_YT_v01 and measure_FB_v01. These abbreviations are internal and need not appear on screen. Each ID maps to its video, cover, copy and review card instead of four files all named final.

The card records source version, narration version, caption version, cover text, CTA, audio source, reviewer and status. Mark missing recordings and exports explicitly. Add a public URL and actual timestamp only after publishing and opening the result.

Trace revisions through dependencies. Changing height to usable clearance requires reviewing the script, recording, captions and graphics, then uploading the new export. A cover promising one measurement must be corrected when the video teaches three.

Review silently for coherent actions and captions, listen for English and pauses, then watch the complete video with sound. Check cropping and overlays in the actual publishing preview. Retain the earlier rights and account-feature checks for every version.

Retain original platform metric names and observation windows. Do not add incompatible views across four platforms and divide by inquiries from one. First check the shared business goal: understanding the measurement, relevant specification questions and use of any configured destination.

Trace misunderstanding to a specific sentence or shot. If viewers still measure external drawer width, show the tape inside the drawer in that version’s first shot and clarify its caption. Other versions need not be re-edited without the same issue.

Record the version, problem, change and observation start. Shared assets can then support platform-specific learning based on actual responses.
